Job description
Toku’s mission is to help companies engage with their customers efficiently. We have helped companies move all the voice communications to the cloud and recently embarked on creating products that help companies keep engaging with their customers no matter where their employees are working from.
Toku is currently getting into a scale-up mode. We want to continue creating momentum for our products in the APAC regions and helping customers with their communications needs. We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient individual to join our company as an A2P Routing Specialist. This role is responsible for managing and optimizing the routing of Application-to-Person messages for our customers across the APAC region. You will ensure the efficient delivery of A2P messages while maintaining high-quality service standards. This role involves analyzing traffic patterns, implementing routing strategies, monitoring network performance, and collaborating with external product providers to ensure cost effective and reliable solutions for our customers.
This is a great opportunity to play an impactful and regional role with a high level of ownership of our A2P services. You will build up expertise of regional products and their providers, and become a trusted advisor to our customers and the business.

What will you be doing?
- Monitor A2P message delivery performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis to provide actionable insights to the team on traffic.
- Support Carrier Sales and Enterprise Sales team in optimizing A2P cost and route performance.
- Create, maintain, and own Toku’s A2P SMS routes.
- Test new and existing suppliers.
- Handle escalations from L1 and L2 teams on technical issues affecting A2P route performance.
- Monitor route performance and cost, make adjustments and monitor the effectiveness of the strategy. Repeat as necessary.
- Ensure accuracy of rates input in Alaris. If there are any post-dated adjustments, re-rate. Work with database team to export the rerated CDRs to the data warehouse.
- Work with SMS engineer to create alerts and monitor performance of critical A2P routes.
- Ensure routing configurations comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with A2P messaging aggregators and providers to optimize routing paths and negotiate favorable terms.
- Evaluate vendor performance and enforce service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure high-quality A2P message delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation of A2P message routing configurations, changes, and optimizations.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Proven experience in A2P messaging, telecommunications, or mobile network operations.
- In-depth understanding of A2P messaging protocols, standards, and technologies.
- Proficiency in network routing protocols (e.g., SMPP, HTTP, SS7) and routing optimization techniques.
- Business and technical acumen to implement effective routing strategies to optimise A2P SMS cost and performance.
- Be the go-to expert for sales, support and technical teams to provide market intelligence in APAC and global markets.
- Keep abreast of changes in the regulations of APAC and global markets. Work with regulatory team to formulate strategies to comply with the local regulations.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements governing A2P messaging (e.g., TCPA, GDPR).
- Certification in relevant areas such as telecommunications or network routing is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools is a plus for this role.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
